Chore Wheel Spinner

Add your kids and your chores. Spin the wheel to decide who does what, then print the list for the fridge.

Free, no sign-up. Works on phone and desktop.

How to use the chore wheel

  1. Type the names of the kids who share the chores, one per line.
  2. Type the chores, one per line. Keep each chore small and clear, for example "Empty the dishwasher" instead of "Help in the kitchen".
  3. Press Spin the wheel. The first name gets the chore under the arrow. Spin again for the next name.
  4. Press Print list to print the results and put them on the fridge.

Why a chore wheel works with siblings

Most chore fights are not about the work. They are about fairness: "I did it yesterday", "Why does she get the easy one?". A wheel moves that decision away from the parent and onto chance. Kids accept a random result more easily than a choice that looks like favoritism.

Two tips make the wheel fairer:

When a wheel is not enough

Random is fair in the long run, but a child can still get the worst chore three times in a row. If that starts fights, switch to a fixed rotation where every chore moves to the next child each day. The chore chart maker builds that rotation for you, and our guide to fair chore rotation for siblings explains how to set it up.

Frequently asked questions

How does the chore wheel decide whose turn it is?

Each spin picks a random chore. The kids take turns in the order you typed their names, so the first spin goes to the first name, the second spin to the second name, and so on.

Can a chore come up twice?

Only if you want it to. The option 'Remove a chore after it is picked' is on by default, so each chore leaves the wheel once someone gets it.

Is the chore wheel free?

Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and saves nothing on our servers.

What is the fastest way to split all chores at once?

Press 'Assign all'. The tool shuffles every chore and deals them out evenly, the same result as spinning until the wheel is empty.
